Art Paris

  • Grand Palais - Stand I26 7 Avenue Winston Churchill Paris, IDF, 75008 France (map)

On the occasion of its first participation in Art Paris, Galerie Bao presents at Booth I26 a group exhibition bringing together Trương Công Tùng, Nguyễn Duy Mạnh, and Lêna Bùi, three leading figures of the contemporary Vietnamese and diasporic art scene. Through this presentation, the gallery continues its commitment to increasing the international visibility of Vietnam contemporary art in Paris.

Framed around the theme of repair, the exhibition explores the relationships between material, memory, and transformation. Through traditional lacquer (sơn mài), ceramics, and works combining painting, rubbing, and textile, the artists examine the traces left by history, modernity, and ecological change.

Trương Công Tùng develops a practice of lacquer as a stratification of time, in which the act of sanding reveals buried layers of memory and landscape.

Nguyễn Duy Mạnh revisits forms from ancient Vietnamese ceramics, deconstructing and repairing them through surgical sutures, transforming each work into a wounded yet resilient body.

Lêna Bùi addresses ecological and urban issues through delicate works that make visible the silent disappearances caused by urban development.
