Grand Action Cinema hosts the official Paris release of Hair, Paper, Water… (Tóc, Giấy và Nước…), co-organised by Petit Chaos Distribution and Galerie Bao. Written and directed by Nicolas Graux and Trương Minh Quý, the film is a sensory documentary portrait of Cao Thị Hậu, a Rục woman from rural Vietnam who shares ancestral knowledge and the fragile Rục language with her grandchildren.

The Rục community lived isolated in caves until the 1950s, before being moved into villages by the government. From this history, the film draws a cinema of attention: brief 16 mm images, intimate observations, and an acoustic world shaped by leaves, mud and dripping water. Presented and awarded at numerous international festivals, including Locarno Film Festival, the film invites viewers to listen to what remains in gestures, words and landscapes.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the two directors - Nicolas Graux and Trương Minh Quý - in English with French translation, moderated by Lê Thiên Bảo.
