Phạm Ngọc Lân

Phạm Ngọc Lân (b. 1986) was born and raised in Hanoi. He rarely left his city (both in reality and in his imagination) until college. Lân graduated with a degree in urban planning and self-taught filmmaking at 27. His works have been shown in prestigious film festivals: Berlinale, New York Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival…; and streaming platforms: Criterion Channel and Mubi.

Lân has made 3 shorts: The Story of Ones (2011, Visions du Reel), and two Berlinale Shorts Competition, Another City (2016) & Blessed Land (2019). Lân is developing his first feature Cu Li Never Cries (Cannes L'Atelier, Busan APM, SEAFIC x Produire Au Sud & Talents Tokyo).
